More Than 350 Aggie Musters to be Held Worldwide
Aggies are preparing once again for Texas A&M's oldest and most revered tradition-Aggie Muster. More than 350 Muster ceremonies are held every year throughout Texas, the United States, and internationally. Muster ceremonies have evolved to reflect the preferences and personalities of those who host them. From the small county gatherings with barbeque and beer to the larger formal events that rent out hotel ballrooms, the observances have become as diverse as Aggies themselves. Participate in the 1st Memorial Blood Drive
Each year on April 21, Aggies around the world gather to honor those who have passed on during the year. In memory of these fallen Aggies, as well as those currently in need, the Houston A&M Club, Reveille Club, Howdy Club, and Houston A&M Mother's Club, in collaboration with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, will hold the first ever Muster Memorial Blood Drive. Please plan to donate at any one of Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center's conveniently located donor centers any time from April 14-21. All donors who credit Aggie group code 1234 will receive a commemorative Spirit of America T-shirt. Please visit

The Association Hosts Largest Ring Day Ever!
The Association of Former Students hosted Aggie Ring Day April 3rd at the Clayton W. Williams Jr. Alumni Center with special guests helping deliver Aggie Rings to 2,984 Aggies! Some lucky students were excited to have Dr. Gates, Dr. Southerland, Coach Franchione and his wife, Kim, hand them their Fightin' Texas Aggie Ring. 31st Annual Golf Classic Coming in May
Do you play a mean game of golf...or is your golf game just plain mean? It doesn't matter! Come out and join The Association and the staff of the Texas A&M Golf Course May 16-17 for what is sure to be two days of fun in the sun! AggieHostel Scheduled for First Week in June
This year's AggieHostel will take place Sunday, June 1-Friday, June 6. Starting this year, AggieHostel is designed for former students 60 years or wiser. This is a wonderful program for former students and their spouses or guests to come back to Aggieland and spend a week on campus, attend some classes, and relive Ring Dance! If you are a member of the Class of '64 or earlier, be on the lookout for the AggieHostel page in your newsletter. The Association of Former Students Announces 2003 Distinguished Alumni
Four proud Texas Aggies have been added to the ranks of Texas A&M's most distinguished former students. Carlos Cantu of Germantown, Tennessee, Class of 1955; M.L. "Red" Cashion of Bryan, Class of 1953; A.W. "Head" Davis Jr. of Bryan, Class of 1945; and J. Howard Shelton of Fort Worth, Class of 1941 were recently named the 2003 Distinguished Alumni by The Association of Former Students and Texas A&M University.

Regents Elect L. Lowry Mays '57 as Board Chairman
After Erle Nye of Dallas and former Association board member John D. White '70 of Houston took their oath to serve as members of The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents, the board elected new officers. Read more.

Campus Master Plan Public Forum Set For April 21
Texas A&M University is in the process of creating a Campus Master Plan that will guide the growth of campus facilities over the next few decades. Former students are encouraged to participate in the forum. Read more.

Gary Blair Named Head Women's Hoops Coach
Gary Blair, who spent the last 10 years as the head women's basketball coach at the University of Arkansas, has been named the head coach at Texas A&M, Director of Athletics Bill Byrne announced. Read more.

Southerland '65 Presented with Honorary Buck Weirus Award
Retiring Texas A&M Vice President for Student Affairs J. Malon Southerland '65 was presented an honorary Buck Weirus Spirit Award at the All-University Awards ceremony during the university's Parents' Weekend activities. Read more.
