A memorial service for Shannon Underwood '01 will be held 2 p.m. June 26 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano.
Her husband, Clay Underwood '97, would like for as many Aggies and friends to Texas A&M to come and fill the church as they celebrate Shannon's courageous and generous life.
This won't be the first time the Aggie Network stepped into impact the Underwood family. In 2013, the Aggie Network rallied around Shannon, who was battling Stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma, to fulfill a wish she had to tailgate before the A&M vs. Alabama football game.
Moved by her story--and unbeknownst to Shannon--Aggies came together to donate money so the Underwoods could have tickets and watch the game inside Kyle Field. They met their goal in minutes, but the donations continued. In total, more than $12,000 was given to Shannon when they arrived, plus sideline passes, and other gifts meant to encourage Shannon, a great Aggie.

So it is with appreciation and a first-hand knowledge of Aggies' selflessness that Clay requests that as many people as possible come to Shannon's service.
Clay shared a story about Shannon’s last days: A few weeks ago, when Shannon was given her prognosis for the future, she told Clay that she wanted to be in her 12th Man jersey when she passed, so they changed her clothes. Shannon passed on June 3 wearing her jersey.
