Michael Darwin Jones 

September 1, 1944 - March 14, 2024 

Michael Darwin Jones was a beloved son, brother, husband, Dad, uncle, Peepaw and friend. He passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Springdale Health & Rehabilitation Center in Springdale, Arkansas, at the age of 79. Born in Hope, Arkansas, to Darwin and Effie Jones, he was raised in Mineral Springs where he learned the value of education, hard work, and faith.

He was a University of Arkansas engineering graduate, who went on to complete a master’s degree at Texas A&M University and later received an MBA. As an engineer, he worked for the government in military logistics support and provided quality control for government contractors. Throughout his career, he was bestowed numerous awards and recognitions, including serving as the President of the American Society for Quality. He taught and traveled all over the United States and to Europe as a quality consultant and trainer before retiring to the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Over 51 years of marriage to his wife, Yvonne, he raised two sons and maintained close relationships with family and friends while making homes in Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and Alabama. Later, Mike and Yvonne enjoyed traveling the world for pleasure, then returning home to volunteer in different enterprises within their church, Holy Spirit Episcopal. Mike returned to Arkansas in 2020.

He is now reunited with his parents and his wife, and he will be forever missed by his children, Glen Jones (Deanna) of Molino, Florida, and Chris Jones (April) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his brother Joel Jones (Janie) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and their family; his sister Jan Studdard (Danny) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and their families; his grandchildren Brett Jones of Bastrop, Texas, and Chad Jones (Miranda) of Pace, Florida; and by Linda Croy of Bentonville, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Rogers, Arkansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23. Interment will be scheduled for a future date at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 616 Fort Morgan Road, Gulf Shores, Alabama 36542. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Episcopal Church.
