Claude Duane Davis
January 27, 1931 - April 10, 2024
Judge Claude Duane Davis, 93, of Austin, Texas went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He is preceded in death by his father, Ira Lee Davis, and his mother, Edith Mae Davis. Claude will be greatly missed but we are comforted by the knowledge that he is resting in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
Judge Davis took great pride in being a lifelong Texan. He was a graduate of the University of Texas, a professor at Trinity University and Texas A&M University, a graduate of St. Mary's Law School, a Brazos County Court at Law judge, and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Claude is survived by his wife Fay Davis, daughters Jan Chenoweth and Denise Kelly, brother Ronald Davis, three granddaughters, Katie Doherty, Julia Gold, and Rebecca Kelly, and four great-grandchildren, Bridgette, Lucy, Mera, and Nora. Claude and Fay were married for 71 years.
Anyone who knew Claude knew he took great joy in being with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved his family, politics, travel, gardening and trying new foods. Claude never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything. He truly was a man of the world, deeply religious and was loved by many.
The family of Judge Claude Davis wishes to extend their thanks and deepest gratitude for your love and kind thoughts during this trying time. At this time, services will be held privately.
