Roll Call Tribute

Blake Williamson '24 May 7, 2024 1:59 PM updated: May 7, 2024 2:06 PM

Blake Mckenzie Williamson

August 27, 1998 - February 22, 2024

We had the joy of having Blake with us for a short time. As a boy he was curious and full of energy, and looked at God's creation in awe. Aunt Tracey had the honor of sharing many experiences with Blake, like his first trips to the zoo and the park. They always had to stay until closing time. He came to live with his grandmother at a difficult time in his life. Blake lived a life of hardship and worry, balancing his diabetes and his ever changing situations in life. Still, he always faced the world with a big heart and a determination to push through.

He shocked his teachers and his family with his perseverance and his intelligence, completing high school in just one year. Through scholarships, he achieved an Associate of Science in Engineering at ACC, and pursued a Bachelor of Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University. Throughout his time at university, he tutored and worked with other students to assist them in achieving their goals. He inspired many in his life, giving advice, and helping where he could. He wanted to take care of everyone he loved and he worked hard to archive that goal.

Blake lives on in the hearts of his grandmother, Diana; his sisters, Victoria and Sophia; step dad Wayne; his aunt, Tracy; uncles Clint and Troy; and, of course, the many friends Blake made along his journeys. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who are here in person and in spirit to say goodbye to our friend, and family member, Blake, and for the love, compassion and support you have all shown for Blake in his life. We will feel Blake’s absence keenly and were blessed with the time we had with him. In the midst of this sadness, we have hope of one day being reunited with our loved ones.
