Scott McDonald Goodwin

July 14, 1949 - April 15, 2024

Scott Goodwin peacefully passed away on April 15, 2024 at the age of 74 surrounded by his loving family.

Scott was born in Houston, Texas on July 14, 1949, the son of Billy Joe Goodwin and Dorice Newsome Goodwin. He attended Humble High School and graduated from Texas A&M University Class of 1971.

In his younger years, Scott was a cowboy at heart and competed in calf roping rodeo events. He was also an excellent baseball player aspiring to be drafted by a major league team. However, an injury to his right arm ended those dreams. Throughout his life Scott was always known for his sense of humor and being a wonderful friend. NO was never in his vocabulary if anyone needed his help, family or friend.

The majority of Scott’s career was spent in the industrial manufacturing industry. He retired in 2020 from Bonney Forge Industries based in Mount Union, PA. Scott served as Corporate Vice President of Quality Assurance overseeing the Pennsylvania location and the local subsidiary, WFI International, Inc., Houston, TX.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Carolyn (C.J.) Smith Goodwin; daughter Jennifer Arriaga, husband Anthony; granddaughters Abby and Avery Arriaga; sister Marsha Thomason, husband Dwayne; nephew Ryan Thomason, wife Dallas, great niece Teagan; sister Ruth Ann Goodwin; sister Tracy Goodwin, nephew Jack Paschall; and several cousins and extended family.
