September 15, 1940 - February 16, 2024 

Marshall “Doc” Wallace, Jr. of San Marcos, Texas passed away on Friday, February 16th, 2024 at the age of 83 in Seguin, Texas.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St John's Mission Church at 210 House Street in Hunter, Texas.

Marshall was born in Beaumont to Marshall Wallace, Sr. and Julia May Landry Wallace on September 15th 1940. He graduated from Beaumont High School and continued his education at Texas A&M University in College Station; he received his bachelor's in accounting then went on to pursue a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine. Doc began practicing as a licensed veterinarian in 1964 and practiced all over the state of Texas as well as in Mexico for the USDA until his retirement in 1993 and was a well known veterinarian at the dog tracks in Corpus Christi.

Doc enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities but his true passion was in travel and fishing. Captain Doc Wallace found peace and enjoyment charting family and guests in the Deep Waters of the Gulf of Mexico and in Costa Rica; upon docking his boat, Doc and Rosa would set sail and explore the Seas together on tropical cruises around the Caribbean and Central America and in their later years finally settling in the small community of Kissing Tree in San Marcos where friendship and joyfulness greeted them daily.

Preceding him in death, his father Marshall Wallace, Sr. and his mother Julia Mae Perlitz. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Maria “Rosita” Wallace of San Marcos, children Genita Wallace of Bryan, Marshall Wallace and wife Sheryl of Bryan, his stepchildren Stephanie Dozier and husband Jeff of Richland Springs, David W. Ritchie, Jr. and wife Jessica of San Antonio and grandchildren, Kacie Wallace and fiance Andrew Gonzalez, Wesley Ritchie, Joseph Wayland, David Ritchie, III, Jenna Trevino and husband Hector, Rodney Saenz, Miranda Ritchie, Tyler Ritchie, Sofia Dozier, Sabrina Dozier, and Ava Ritchie and great grandchild, Everett Ritchie.
