Chris Derrington 

November 27, 1950 - January 27, 2024 

Chris Derrington was born on November 27, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to Robert Derrington and Frances Johnson Derrington. He had one sister, Pamela. He passed away on January 27, 2024.

Chris grew up in Richardson and his childhood days were filled with playing sports and spending time with friends. He graduated from Richardson High School in 1969 and from Texas A&M University in 1973.

He leaves to celebrate his legacy his wife, Cheryl Hartley Derrington; his daughter Kristy Quinn and husband Jeremy; his son Kyle Derrington; his grandsons Miller and Granger Quinn; his granddaughter Chandler Quinn; his stepsister Sharon Cowne; and his close friend group of 60+ years “The Nelta Boys”; in addition to numerous other family and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister; his stepmother Berniece Derrington; and his lifelong friend Bruce Bell.

Services will be Saturday, February 10 at 2:00 pm in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, with a reception immediately following at Restland Events Center.
