Harvey B. Swenson, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5th, 2024.
Harvey Bosworth Swenson, Jr. was born August 29, 1947, in Erie, Pennsylvania to Harvey Swenson, Sr. and Elizabeth Hayward. He was the oldest of three children. Early in his life Harvey and his family moved to Amarillo, Texas where he was a graduate of Amarillo High School and went on to study at Texas A&M University.
Harvey was a compassionate husband, father, friend, and maker. He loved spending time carefully crafting gifts for friends and family. He lovingly considered each recipient as he chose the project and brought it into reality. There didn’t seem to be a project he couldn’t find a way to accomplish. He devoted similar care while raising his three children as he lovingly cared for, provided for, and sacrificed to raise his family.
Harvey had an abiding testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Laura Swenson of Lubbock, TX, daughter, Vicki Bacon of Lubbock, TX, son, Reed Swenson and daughter-in-law Fleur of Shelbyville, KY. His grandchildren, Matthew Bacon, Josh Bacon, Paul Swenson and granddaughter-in-law Arianna, Maggie Swenson, and Ellen Swenson. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Susie Swenson, and son-in-law Howard Bacon.
