Jonathan Womer

August 8, 1991 - October 16, 2016

Jonathan David Baran Womer, born on August 8, 1991 in Morristown, NJ, left our loving presence on October 16, 2016.

Jonathan was a beloved and humble person to all who knew him. As intimidating as he looked, he was a gentle giant with the biggest heart. He was particularly proud of his self-dubbed "ginger beard" and took pride in his mountain man looks. We were all so incredibly touched by his constant generosity, love, warm laugh, radiant smile, bear hugs, and selflessness toward others.

He was a 2009 graduate of Phillipsburg High School. Jonathan was an excavator with Matthew Korbobo, LLC in Bloomsbury and was also employed at the Little York Inn as a waiter and bartender, and Casola's in Bloomsbury.

He was a man of many talents and interests, which included jamming out to his favorite tunes in his truck, digging holes as an excavator (as well as occasionally climbing into them for a photo op), working multiple jobs and making so many friends and acquaintances at all of them, competing in frog catching competitions, taking great care of his two adoring dogs, swimming in snapping turtle infested rivers, reading and teaching anyone who would listen about World War II, shooting targets at the local gun range, creating woodworking and DIY masterpieces, getting tattoos (provided he could find room for a new one), and eating at unlimited buffets.

There is so much more we could say about our darling Jonathan, because he had endless good qualities and such a lasting impact on all of us, and always will. He was such a loving person who would do absolutely anything for his family and friends without ever expecting anything in return (except maybe coffee or tacos). Jonathan's heart truly abounded to all of us and we were all so lucky to have felt his love. We are all better people for having known him and his love will live on in all of us.

He is survived by his mother, Eva Baranowski of Bloomsbury; his father and stepmother, David and Ann Womer of Wimberley, TX; his sister and brother-in-law, Caroline Womer and Jeff Rieck; grandparents, Bruce and Saundra Womer; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Devlin Funeral Home followed by memorial services at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jonathan's name to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation. Donations can be made online at www.chriskylefrogfoundation.org/donate/ or checks can be sent to the foundation at P.O. Box 1337, Midlothian, TX 76065.
