Renay R. (Alms) Crooker 

November 10, 1960 - January 24, 2024 

It is with very heavy hearts the family of Renay Alms Crooker, of Glendale, AZ, share with you that Renay passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2024 at the age of 63. Renay was born in Houston, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University and soon after moved from Houston to Glendale, Arizona to pursue her love in the animal sciences field.

Renay was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Ray Alms, I and Bettye Ann Lyles Alms and her brother Richard Ray Alms, II. She is survived by her beloved husband Jon David Crooker, her sisters; Ramona Alms Burrows and husband Gary, and Robin Alms Winfrey and husband Stephen. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Glenn Edward Crooker as well as a brother-in-law and sister-in law, with multiple nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, and cousins.

Renay was a loving wife and lifelong partner to Jon and the two of them were the best husband and wife team. They were deeply committed to supporting one another and were one another’s best friend. Their relationship together was a special bond that they both valued immensely.

Renay was a wonderful Mom to all her beloved dogs throughout her life. Renay loved her passion of breeding and training dogs and celebrated multiple achievements and accolades in the areas of confirmation, rally, scent trials and herding in the Cardigan community. She loved this hobby, which kept her deeply committed to the animals and her passion for nearly 50 years. Through her commitment to her dogs and the dog loving community, she developed lifelong friendships that she deeply cherished.

Please keep Jon and the rest of Renay’s family in your thoughts and prayers while they grieve the loss of their wife, sister, and friend. A Memorial Service for Renay will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024. The service will be as follows: Visitation at 3:30 PM, Service at 4:00 PM followed by Visitation until 6:00 PM at Peoria Community Center, 8335 W Jefferson St, Peoria, AZ 85345.
