August 5, 1939 - May 15, 2024 

Billy Gene Wiese, 84, of Woodway, Texas, was called home to his Lord and Savior on May 15, 2024.

His memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in the Chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey funeral home in Waco, Texas.

Bill was born August 5, 1939, in Osage, Texas. He was raised on a farm near McGregor, Texas, and graduated from Midway High School in 1957. In high school, Bill was a state champion track athlete who later received a scholarship to Lamar University. He then graduated from Texas A&M University in 1963 with a degree in civil engineering.

Bill retired as the Waco District Construction Engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation. He then dedicated many additional years of expertise to the highway paving industry.

He loved watching sports, most notably college basketball and football. He also collected and repaired antique fountain pens. Bill loved being outdoors and vacationing in the San Juan Mountains, but most of all, he loved the Lord and his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Fritz and Nellie Mae; his brother, Robert; and sister, Louise Tate.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Wiese; his brother, Joe Wiese and wife Kit; his children, Craig Wiese and wife Teresa, Paula Joyner and Elizabeth Weisbrod, Glenn Raborn and wife Lisa, Lisa Raborn Eggebrecht and husband Jerry Eggebrecht Jr., and eight beautiful grandchildren he adored.
