June 21, 1951 - May 6, 2024 

Funeral services for Robert Allen “Bobby” Jones, 72, of Diboll will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Timber Creek Church with Brother Ben Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in the McMahan’s Chapel Cemetery in Sabine County.

Bobby was born June 21, 1951 in Houston, Texas to the late Christine (Ammons) and Alvie Franklin Jones, and died Monday, May 6, 2024 at his home in Diboll.

Bobby was a proud Texas Aggie graduate of the Class of ’73. He dedicated over 40 years of work to the East Texas oil and gas field. Bobby was a faithful member and served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church Diboll, as well as Golden Acres Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Alto.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Margina “Gina Gayle” Jones; son, Travis Jones and wife Laura; daughters, Jodi Jordan and husband John, Jamie Smith and husband Shea; son, Trey Jones and wife Paige; grandchildren, Shalyn and husband Justin Hathorn, Taylor Jones, Carson Jones, Carlee Jones, Brady and wife Katelyn Jordan, Jaxon Jordan, Kade Jordan, Asa Jordan, Raylei Smith, Reyce Smith, Ryane Smith, Deker Jones, Roman Jones, Harlyn Jones; siblings, Donald Jones and wife Donna, Mark Jones and wife Kerrie, Norman Jones; sisters-in-law, Dayna Wesney, Jan Farmer and husband Ken; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Wendell and Doris Eddings; and brothers, James Jones, Alvie “Lynn” Jones, Jr., and Clifford Jones.

Pallbearers will be Brady Jordan, Jaxon Jordan, Kade Jordan, Reyce Smith, Carson Jones, and Justin Hathorn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Jones, Trey Jones, John Jordan, Shea Smith, Asa Jordan, and Deker Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Expedition Church, P.O. Box 41, Livingston, Montana 59047; or the Disaster Relief Fund at Unity Baptist Association, 105 Weber Street, Diboll, Texas 75941.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones Friday evening at their home church, First Baptist Church Diboll, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service at Timber Creek Church.
