William Robert "Bob" Blackstone 

November 17, 1936 - December 9, 2023 

William Robert "Bob" Blackstone, a devoted family man, accomplished engineer, and a gentleman of many passions, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2023, in Fairview, Texas. Born on November 17, 1936, in Opelika, Alabama, to proud parents William Wheeler Blackstone and Trixie Redding, Bob's life was marked by remarkable achievements and deep connections with those he loved.

Bob's education was a testament to his intellect and diverse interests. In 1959, he proudly graduated from Texas A&M University with two bachelor's degrees, one in English and the other in Mechanical Engineering. Later, in 1986, he furthered his academic pursuits and earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University. Showcasing his commitment to service, Bob was a proud member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, and he also served in the United States Army.

Bob's professional journey led him to a successful career in Aerospace Engineering and the Oil and Gas Industry. His contributions and achievements in these fields were reflective of his dedication and passion for his work.

After a fulfilling career, Bob retired in Fairview, Texas, to be closer to family and to indulge in his favorite pastimes, including golf, tennis, and bridge. His zest for life extended beyond his professional pursuits, and he found joy in these leisure activities.

On February 3, 1962, Bob married the love of his life, Wanda Camille Riley, in Woodsboro, Texas. Their union was blessed with two children. Wanda passed away on April 24, 2005, after 43 years of marriage. On January 1, 2006, Bob found love again and remarried to Janice Carol Prickett. Their shared interests and values solidified their bond until Janice's passing on March 19, 2022.

Bob is survived by his loving children, Billy Blackstone and wife, Charissa, Robert Timothy Blackstone and wife, Kelly, Piper Jackson and husband, Herschel, Pam Prickett, Paul Clay Prickett and wife, Cindy; He is also survived by his devoted sister, Linda Borchart, and husband, John; sister, Becky Franklin. Bob's legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren, Jordan Blackstone, Morgan Blackstone, Lacy Blackstone, Nick Blackstone, Riley Blackstone, Keaton Blackstone, Kyler Blackstone, Kade Blackstone, and Kieran Blackstone.

Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Paige Prickett, and brother-in-law, Louis Franklin.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on December 15, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the same location.

Bob's impact on the lives of those around him will be forever remembered, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
