Thomas Edward "Tom" Bonorden 

October 6, 1933 - May 6, 2024 

Thomas Edward Bonorden, of Gause, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on May 6, 2024 at the age of 90. He was born October 6, 1933 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Arthur E. and Ella Knipling Bonorden.

Tom attended Texas A&M University where he studied entomology, was a member of the Corps of Cadets and captain of the Aggie Track and Field Team. After serving in the military, he pursued a long and rewarding career at Dow Chemical in Lake Jackson, Texas. His retirement years were spent volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and enjoying his ranch in Gause. He also developed a keen interest in genealogy. Tom was passionate about his family and his faith above all else, and was known for his willingness to give freely of his time and talents to help others.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hallie Marek Bonorden; daughter-in-law Tina Bonorden; sister Rosella Dermit; brother Gene Bonorden; and 3 granddaughters, Leslie (Casen Barry), Natalie and Kara.

He was preceded in death by his son, David; parents; sisters Iris Lynn Patterson and Ruth Ann Robinson Caufield; and brothers Arthur Bonorden, Jr. and Henry Bonorden.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery with Pastor David Jentsch officiating.

Pallbearers are Mark Patterson, Ted Patterson, Gene Bonorden Jr., Andy Bonorden, David Dulak, and David Woodward. Honorary Pallbearers are Holly Jentsch and Anna Goodman.

Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
