Marion D. "Dale" Harvill 

March 25, 1936 - December 25, 2023 

Marion Dale Harvill, 87, of Spring, Texas passed away December 25, 2023. He was born March 25, 1936 in Montague County, Texas to the late Lucille and Burt Harvill.

Born of humble beginnings, Dale earned his way through his upper education by working for the university poultry farm and becoming a Distinguished Student at Texas A&M University. Upon completion, Dale attended and graduated from the US Naval Officer Candidate School and subsequently served on the naval ship USS Polk County as a Damage Control and Engineering Officer, earning a Letter of Commendation for damage control while serving in the South China Sea.

Following his Navy career, Dale pursued his passion for legal work by attending and graduating 6th in his class at the University of Texas School of Law. Dale’s legal career spanned 40 years as a trial attorney, partner, and owner of his own law firm. As a lawyer, he earned the highest rating given by the Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer Directory, with the designation of “AV”, signifying the highest level of professional excellence in legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards. He became one of the winningest trial lawyers in Texas history.

Dale also served in the agriculture community as President of the Gulf Coast Limousine Cattle Association and Vice President of the Arabian Horse Association. He was also instrumental in the legal development of the Arabian Horsemen’s Distress Fund. Dale was a man of God who believed strongly in hard work, fairness and ethical conduct. His support of the Church and his belief in Christ was unwavering.

Dale is survived by his wife, Debbie Harvill, Sons Jonathan Chase (Megan) Harvill, Daniel (Kathryn) Harvill, Patrick Harvill, and Daughters Teresa ( Michael) Taylor and Heather (Jason) Edwards, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in The Chapel at The Woodlands Church at 1 Fellowship Way, followed by a reception at Woodlands Country Club located at 1730 S. Millbend Dr.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to support the research at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
