Martin Harold Scaief 

May 16, 1932 - December 6, 2023 

Martin Harold Scaief passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023, at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas, attended by his wife Ava Hopkins Scaief. They raised Trey Hopkins and Amy Acy as their children. Their grandchildren are Brayden and Jaxon Hopkins, and Tyler and Acy Wyatt.

Harold was born to Martin Howell and Helen Hughes Scaief on May 16, 1932 in San Benito, Texas. Harold graduated from San Benito High School. He attended Texas A&M University graduating in 1952 where he earned the title of "King Cotton." He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956 where he served as a first lieutenant and received a National Defense Service Medal. He was stationed overseas in Casablanca, Morocco where his first son, Steven, was born.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and brothers John and Sam, as well as his sister, Jane. He is survived by the last living daughter of Martin and Helen, Nancy Gustaveson. He was also predeceased by his middle son, Randy, who lived from June 6, 1961 to April 13, 1970.

Harold is survived by his two adult sons and their children and grandchildren. His eldest surviving son is Steven Scaief whose adult children are Lindsay with husband Travis Riley, and their children Luke, Avery, and Paige; Kevin Scaief with Kasie Barzas and their child Evie; and Brian Scaief with Nicole McEntyre and their children Malaya and Archer. His youngest surviving son is Hunter Scaief with his wife, Niki, and their adult children are Delaney and husband, Christian Kaster, and Destiny and Trinity Scaief.
