Carrol Don "C.D." Wallace

Graveside service for Carrol Don (C.D.) Wallace, 87, of Hurst, Texas will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 29, 2023 in Ozro Cemetery, Maypearl, Texas. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the funeral home.

Carrol passed away December 23, 2023, in Cleburne. He was born November 1, 1936 in Hext, Texas to O.V. and Mary Agnes (Garvin) Wallace. From the very beginning, C.D. was remarkable. His birth was announced in the local newspaper, complete with pictures, for having a surprising total of 11 grandparents. He attended schools in Cleburne, and in high school he met the love of his life, Janice Doud. They married in 1958 and remained so until her death in 2021.

After high school, he attended Texas A&M College earning his bachelor’s. Everyone knows what a proud Aggie he was. After college, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and continued his electrical engineering education. He served and completed his duties with an honorable discharge.

Carrol and Janice had three sons by this time, and he was a very involved father. Taking his boys to church, being a leader for their boy scout’s troops and attending sports, school, and other outside activities kept him busy and proud. In fact, he often spoke of raising his sons as his finest achievement. His career as an electrical engineer was also a source of pride and joy. He worked at Bell Textron Helicopter for 20 years and worked on the Classic Bell Jet Ranger. He was very satisfied with his career choices and disliked having to retire. Carrol loved socializing, food, fun and football, traveling, taking lots of pictures and family get togethers made him happy. His love for people and great personality made him many friends. He was well respected and very well loved. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his 3 sons, 3 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Carrol was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
