Ronald Aaron "Ron" Weinstein 

October 25, 1949 - December 21, 2023 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald “Ron” Aaron Weinstein who peacefully left us at the age of 74 on December 21, 2023, at home surrounded by his wife, close friends, and caregivers. He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and brother-in-law, a successful entrepreneur, and a cherished friend.

Ron was born October 25, 1949, in Dover, Delaware. He spent his youth playing baseball and at the beach with his cousins. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in business and worked for many years in the eyewear industry. Ron spent his early adulthood in Texas and Kansas and the remainder of his life in Colorado, where he met and married his wife Pearl “Patti” (Rosenblatt) Weinstein. They met in Denver and made their permanent home in Vail.

Together, Ron and Patti embarked on a shared adventure, not only in marriage and traveling but also in business. Their entrepreneurial spirit led them to establish Roxy, a chain of clothing stores in Vail, Beaver Creek, and Denver. Their partnership was a source of inspiration to all who knew them.

Ron Weinstein was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Mary Weinstein. Ron is survived by his loving wife Patti Weinstein; his brother Allan Weinstein; dear cousins Tammy Engel, Dena Palermo, Karen Hogan (Jeff), Marilyn McFatridge (Kieth) who were like sisters to him; and Aunt Rose Hanovice; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ruthie and Nick George of Akron, Ohio; nephews and nieces Niko George, Micaela O’Leary, and Ida George of Midway, Utah; and Mimi, Rick, Sidney, and Josie Kent of Los Angeles; cousins Theresa, Michael, Tia, Willow Carr, and Alexine Carr Jesso and husband Caleb; and the many godchildren he “accumulated” throughout life.

Ron leaves behind a legacy of enduring friendships. He had a rare gift for cultivating and maintaining connections that lasted a lifetime. His unique sense of humor was one you either “got” or you didn’t, and if you did, you were endeared to him forever. The love Ron had for animals, particularly his and Patti’s cherished dogs, added warmth and unconditional love to their home. Ron found joy and solace in the beauty of nature. He was an avid skier and golfer, and his enthusiasm for these sports was infectious.

Our family wishes to extend our deepest appreciation to the devoted caretakers who played an instrumental role in Ron’s life during his challenging illness. We would like to thank (in Vail, Colorado) Caroline, Rosa, Carmen, Susan, Ashley, as well as Hospice of the Valley, and (in Palm Desert, California) Yvette, Maria, and Christina. Their selfless dedication and tireless efforts exemplified the true meaning of compassionate care, providing not only medical support but also genuine friendship, companionship, and kindness.

Graveside Service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 3653 West Market Street, Akron, OH 44333, at 1 PM. Shiva meal to follow at George residence.
