Randall Lee "Randy" Riggs, age 72, of Axtell, Texas formerly of West, Texas passed away late Sunday morning, May 12, 2024 at his residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.

Randy was born January 20, 1952 in Dallas, the son of Archie and Robbie (Burton) Riggs. He was a 1970 graduate of Waco High School and 1974 graduate of Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree and was a member of the Corps of Cadets.

On September 14, 1984 he was united in marriage to Marcia Walker in China Spring. Marcia preceded him in death on September 6, 2012. Randy then married Judy Woodland on October 8, 2021 in Waco. Randy was a Director of Community Services and Development for the City of Woodway prior to retiring April 3, 2018. He also worked for Texas State Technical College, The Boys Ranch, and Fleetwood Mobile Homes. He was a member of the Karem Shrine Temple in Waco. Randy enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, watching sunsets and birds, playing baseball, working with wood, golfing, drinking a good cold beer, cooking on his smoker, making new recipes, and making candy to give to others. He loved family gatherings and visiting with friends.

Randy is also preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Robin Riggs; a half sister, Claudette Hinsley; and a half brother, Jerry Gill.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Lee Woodland of Axtell; a daughter, Amanda Lee Neill and husband Justin of West; stepdaughters, Jessica Machac of West, and Jennifer Bates and husband Craig of Argyle; a stepson, Matthew Butler and wife Tammy; his grandchildren, Tyler Machac and fiance Gracie Smith, Paityn Machac, Lane Hogg and fiance Jessica Barabas, Logan Hogg, Landon Bates, Landry Bates, Reagan Butler, and Philip Butler; great grandchildren, Jackson Lane Hogg and Hallie Blake Machac; brothers-in-law, David Hinsley, and Wayne Woodland and wife Shirley; a sister-in-law, Elaine Gill; his golden doodles, Bella and Blaize; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Matt Dulock, Luke Stone, Tyler Machac, Mike Berger, Aaron Browning, Brian Kaska, Johnny Ramsey, and Kevin Wise. Honorary pallbearers are Lane Hogg, Logan Hogg, Ron Moody and Jason Darling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Volunteer Fire Department, Leroy/Axtell Volunteer Fire Department, or the charity of your choice.
