James Donald Langham 

January 28, 1946 - May 15, 2024 

James (Jamie) Donald Langham, 78, of Caldwell, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell, Texas with Sharon Novosad officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.

James (Jamie) Donald Langham was born on January 28, 1946, to Joe Langham and Minnie Schoppe Langham in Brenham, Texas. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1964 where he competed in football, baseball, track, and tennis and also where he met his future sweetheart, Patsy Blazek; they were married on August 21, 1965. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Leigh and Lana. He went on to attend Blinn College in Brenham, Texas Tech University in Lubbock, and Texas A & M University in College Station where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1970.

James started his teaching/coaching career at Wharton High School where he taught physical science and coached football, baseball, and basketball until 1974. He started teaching/coaching at Angleton High School where he taught physical science and coached football and baseball until 1992. After that he began teaching and coaching in Caldwell where he taught physical science and coached football and baseball and retired in 2000. James enjoyed attending many athletic events at Texas A & M University throughout the years including football, baseball, softball, and basketball. He was a passionate fan of the Texas A & M Aggies. He also loved gardening, fishing, golfing, barbecuing, dancing, and especially spending time with his beloved grandsons, Trevor and Trenton, and going to their numerous activities over the years.

Jamie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He loved coaching and was highly respected and loved by his students. Jamie was a very giving person; he was patient and kind, always putting others before self. He was a blessing to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

James is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Minnie (Schoppe) Langham; his parents-in-law, Louis Blazek and Aileen (Green) Blazek; his brothers Larry and Ronnie Langham; his sister-in-law, Peggy (Blazek) Brinkman and niece, Debra (Langham) Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patsy (Blazek) Langham of Caldwell, his daughters Leigh McMahan (David); Lana Honeycutt (Bryan); of Angleton; his grandchildren Trevor McMahan (Tiffany); Trenton Sholders (Sarah); Lindsey Dawson (Trey); Alyssa and Luke Honeycutt; great-grandchildren Stellah, Derek, Audrey, Blakely, and Drue; sister-in-law Bonnie Langham of Dime Box, nieces and nephews Lisa Proske (Mark), Tim Langham (Rachel), Larry Langham, Jr., Dara Stone (Harold), Dawn Roberson (Larry), and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, consider donating to Providence Cemetery Association, 5212 CR 236, Caldwell, Texas 77836 or Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803.

Honoring Jamie as pallbearers will be Leon Pargac, Richey Plimper, David McMahan, Bryan Honeycutt, Trevor McMahan, and Trenton Sholders.
