Lyndee Inez (Behrends) Wynne

March 27, 1984 - May 17, 2024

Lyndee Inez (Behrends) Wynne peacefully passed away in her sleep on Friday, May 17, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. She was 40 years old.

Lyndee was born on March 27, 1984, in Lubbock, Texas, to Earl Lynn and Donita Dee (Buice) Behrends. On September 17, 2011, she married Dustin Wynne in Amarillo, Texas. In 2016, they were blessed with the arrival of the light of her life, Declan.

A dedicated Christian, Lyndee’s life exemplified service and love. Lyndee committed herself to caring for others as a pediatric nurse in an intensive care unit and later as a nurse in a surgical center. Lyndee treasured planning heartfelt gatherings with friends and family. Before moving to Lubbock, Lyndee was a member of Southwest Church of Christ in Amarillo. She was quick to find a church that met her family’s needs and became a member of South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas. Through the church she found strength, community and fellowship in her faith, and pleasure sharing her love of Christ through teaching children’s Bible classes. Lyndee’s compassion knew no bounds, extending to her roles as a devoted wife, doting mother, beloved daughter, inspiring sister, eager aunt, and enchanting friend.

Lyndee found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in reading in solitude, as well as the comradery from a shared novel with her local book club. Lyndee loved making cherished memories with her friends and family; Lyndee loved to organize trips, traveling to new destinations and attending concerts. Her passion for Aggie football and Disney Parks brought her immense happiness and laughter.

Lyndee was a proud graduate of Dimmitt High School in 2002. Lyndee then received her Bachelor of Science at Texas A&M University in 2006, where she embraced the Aggie spirit with pride. Finding her calling in nursing, she furthered her education at West Texas A&M University, graduating as a BSN in 2010.

Lyndee’s passing leaves a void that words cannot express. She will be deeply missed by all who know her. She is survived by her husband, Dustin Wynne, and their son, Declan, of Lubbock, Texas; bonus daughter, Audrey Pleming, of Amarillo, Texas; her parents, Earl and Donita Behrends, of Muleshoe, Texas; brother, Garrett Behrends, and wife, Amanda, of Lubbock, Texas; her sister, Jessica Atwood, and husband, D.J., of Abilene, Texas; her grandfather, Clarence Behrends, of Dimmitt, Texas; her in-laws: Doug and Sandi Eudey, Roger Wynne, Marshal and Lindsey Eudey, Andy and Kari Eudey, Chris and Donna Pittman; and a host of beloved and heartbroken nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In the wake of Lyndee’s departure, her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, spirit, compassion, and unwavering love.

May Lyndee rest in eternal peace, knowing that her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire generations to come.

Services to honor Lyndee’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Southwest Church of Christ in Amarillo with Pastor Jon Kohler officiating.
