Kimberle "Kim" File

March 12, 1955 - December 15, 2023

Kimberle “Kim” File passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, December 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Kim was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Becky and Don File on March 12, 1955, and moved with her family to Houston in 1976.

While always a Pittsburgher at heart, Kim became a lifelong proud Texas Aggie after graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. Kim’s various accomplishments — including obtaining her real estate license, working as a paralegal, and earning a master of fine arts from St. Thomas University — were driven by her passion for learning and expanding her knowledge of the arts in all of its forms. In addition, Kim was a talented artist who excelled in many mediums, leaving behind a collection of paintings and projects that her family will cherish, along with memories of her quick wit, lively laughter, and bold personality, in the years to come.

Kim is survived by her siblings, Pam Terry (Kim), Don File (Kendra), Jan Sears (Rex) and Becky “Meme” Newman (Walter), her beloved nieces and nephews, Emily Burgess (Justin), Katie Calhoun (Jim), Leslie Jordan (Chris), Abby File (Ben Brown), Tom Sears, Claire Sears, Jenny Jane Newman and Nick Newman, and her great nephews and niece, Connor, Parker, and Tyler Burgess, Laney, Jimmy, and Walker Calhoun and Charlie and Augie Jordan.

Kim will be laid to rest in the family plot in the historic Beaver Cemetery in Beaver, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh, where a graveside service will be held. For those desiring, donations may be made in Kim’s name to the charity of your choice.
