Charles Leonard "Len" Gould, Jr.

February 8, 1940 - November 26, 2023

Charles Leonard Gould, Jr. (Len) passed away on November 26, 2023, at the age of 83. He was the oldest of six children born to Charles Leonard Gould, Sr., and Elizabeth Gould.

Len is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lynne Marie Gould, and their three sons: Thad (Mary) Gould, Eric (Stephanie) Gould and Joel (Michelle) Gould, and four granddaughters: Taylor (Tyler) Gee, Elizabeth Gould, Josie Gould, and Gabi Gould.

Len was born in West Orange, New Jersey. When he was six, his family moved to San Francisco. Four years later, the family moved to Houston, Texas. Len graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston and later from Texas A&M University with a major in history.

After stops in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Houston, Len and the family moved to Atlanta in 1978. Len had a long career at Assurant, where he retired as the Senior Vice President of Operations. He retired in 2005, and he and Lynne moved to Skidaway Island, Georgia, where he enjoyed golfing, cards, and dining with friends. They returned to Atlanta in 2018.

Len was an avid golfer, a sports fan, a reader, and a man of unwavering Catholic faith. He and Lynne remained actively involved in both their faith and community throughout his life. Len’s true joy was spending time with his wife, his sons, their wives, and his grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Atlanta, GA. on December 7th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas in Len’s name.
