Isaac Wayne Woolsey, 92, retired Petroleum Geologist, died peacefully in his home Monday, November 27, 2023. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 11, 2023, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary, 6555 E. Central, Wichita, KS.
Wayne was born on January 25, 1931, to Floyd Marcus and Jessie Rebecca Woolsey in Gunter, TX. He graduated high school in Collinsville, TX, received his Bachelors degree at University of North Texas, then a Masters degree at Texas A&M University. He was a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war. He worked for Texaco before starting multiple businesses which eventually became the Woolsey Companies. He was a leader and always shared his knowledge with others. He enjoyed all sports, watching old western movies and spending time at home with his family as he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Kay Woolsey; parents, Floyd and Jessie Woolsey. Survived by daughters, Cheryl (Roger) Crisler, Carla Haggard; sons, Marc (Hillary) Woolsey, Matthew Woolsey; grandchildren, Jennifer (Hunter) Glasscock, Simon Woolsey, Summer Woolsey, Gavin Woolsey, Grayson Woolsey; brother, Rogers (Cherry) Woolsey; nephews, Derek Woolsey, Damon Woolsey, Barry Woolsey.
A memorial has been established with Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd. SW, Liburn, GA 30047.
