Deborah Joyce Richards 

October 10, 1952 - November 9, 2023 

Captain Deborah J. Richards was born on October 10th, 1952 in Houston, Texas and passed away on November 9th, 2023.

Deborah was a graduate of Texas A&M Maritime College of Galveston, Texas where she earned her USCG Third Mate License and was commissioned in the USNR as an Ensign. She was discharged in 1994 as a LT. USNR. She earned her USCG Masters (Captains) License in 1998. Capt. DJ Captained Tanker Ships all over the world!

She was a Life Member of Texas VFW Auxiliary Post 4010. She was second generation NAVY and loved the sea and working in a man’s world where she held her own extremely well!!

Deborah loved traveling and camping with her dog Harley.

Her parents Adam C. Richards and Jocelyn Richards predecease Deborah. She is survived by her brother Russ Richards and his wife Zelda of Giddings, Texas as well as her nephew Adam Richards of Dallas, Texas.
