June 7, 1933 - May 20, 2024 

Harold Comer, 90, of Pampa, Texas passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 in Pampa.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Fairview Cemetery with Robert Reeve and Chris Comer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Harold was born in Crockett, Texas, on June 7, 1933, to Clarence and Neva Comer. A distinguished alumnus of Pampa High School, he graduated in 1951. Harold pursued his higher education at Texas A&M University and went on to earn his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas. He proudly served in the Corp of Cadets while at Texas A&M University. Following his academic pursuits, he proudly served in the US Army as a member of the JAG Corps in El Paso. Harold married Jean Hendricks on September 16, 1955, and for over six decades, they cherished a union filled with love and commitment until Jean's passing on March 15, 2017.

Returning to Pampa in the early 1960s, Harold established a successful law career. He later entered public service, serving as District Attorney for two terms. A man of strong values, Harold was deeply involved in his community, showing his dedication through his service at the First Christian Church, on the PISD school board, and as an active member of the Pampa Lions Club.

Harold was known for his fierce determination and competitive spirit, whether in the courtroom or on the golf course. He found joy in playing golf and fishing, often sharing these passions with his family and friends. His grandchildren's accomplishments were a source of great pride and happiness for him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin brother, Jarold Comer.

Survivors include his two daughters, Carrie Comer and husband Bruce Kidwell of Blanchard, Oklahoma and Laurie Reeve and husband Robert of Eustace; son, Chris Comer and wife Stacy of Lubbock; granddaughters, Avery Reeve of Eustace and Kennedi Comer of Lubbock; grandsons, Tyler Cunningham of Lubbock, Jordan Cunningham and wife Rhiannan of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tucker Reeve, Cooper Reeve both of Eustace, and Jackson Comer of Lubbock; and a niece, Jan Comer of Abilene.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. In his memory, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

May Harold Comer's legacy of dedication, love for family, and commitment to community live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
