Carroll James Cooper 

November 27, 1934 - June 4, 2024 

Carroll James Cooper, 89, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at his home in Bryan, Texas with his family by his side.

A memorial service for Carroll will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Alexander United Methodist Church, 5300 Alexander Road, Bryan, Texas.

Carroll was born November 27, 1934 in Houston, Texas, the son of Charlton and Ella Mae (McCallum) Cooper. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1956 with a degree in Dairy Science. Carroll was in Squadron 25, the Dairy Science Club and on the dairy judging team. He began his dairy, Red Rock Farm, in 1954, two years before receiving his degree, and operated until 1969.

Carroll was a building contractor and building supervisor from 1970 to 1983 and Building Inspector and Plans Reviewer for the City of Bryan from 1984 to 2003. He is a past member of the Southern Building Code Congress International and the International Code Council. He is a past Director of the Brazos County Farm Bureau and a Trustee of Alexander United Methodist Church.

Carroll was gentle, a man of his word, patient, honest, hard working, true to his word, heart of gold, greatest man and father known to his family.

Carroll is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty June (Cooper) Fuchs; and his son, James Keith Cooper.

He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Sherrell Ann (Walker) Cooper; son and daughter-in-law, Carroll Wayne and Tammy Cooper; daughter and son-in-law, Terrie Lynn and Don Pauler; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
