Gerald Burke Schulz 

December 5, 1933 - May 26, 2024 

Gerald Burke Schulz, cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on May 26, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on December 5, 1933, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Gerald graduated from Ray High School. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University Class of 1955 where he was a Ross Volunteer.

Gerald was an active member of the Appraisal Institute holding the MAI designation and practicing as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser. Gerald was proud of his family's long term ownership of ranch lands that he managed in South Texas.

Gerald had a special interest in worldwide travel. He took Pat on many trips with the Traveling Aggies. Gerald cherished annual trips to a variety of locations with his adult children. He also enjoyed frequent trips to Tassajara Zen Mountain Monastery in the Big Sur mountains of California. That interest led to his joining the San Antonio Zen Center.

He was predeceased by his parents Mary Jane Burke Schulz and J Gerald Schulz. He leaves behind his beloved wife Pat Schulz, children, G Schulz, Jay Schulz (Pam), Lisa Curtis (Kelly), grandchildren, Matt Schulz (Martha) and Priscilla Bekka (Malek) and 5 great-grandchildren. Gerald is also survived by sisters-in-law Linda Heinze and Sandy Spear plus brother-in-law Ralph Spear. Also surviving are many cousins some whom he considered his siblings.

Gerald's life was a testament to integrity, kindness and family. He will be deeply missed. The cherished memories and impact he made on his community and family will resonate for generations to come.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the San Antonio Zen Center and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
