Elvis Ray Cozart 

August 31, 1927 - June 11, 2024 

Elvis Cozart, age 96 of Trickham, Texas passed to the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 8:30 am at the Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman.

He was born Elvis Ray Cozart on August 31, 1927 in Trickham, Texas to his loving parents John Etoile and Irma Lola Harvey Cozart. Raised in Trickham he attended schools there and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1943. Pursuing his thirst for knowledge he attended Texas A & M University receiving a degree in Agronomy. Well on his way to completing his Masters Degree, the Korean War broke out and he was to enlist in the Army. After waiting and not receiving a response from the army he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during the Korean War.

Elvis married his love and lifetime partner Reba Haynes July 1948 at the Trickham Union Church and they celebrated 72 years of marriage. Reba preceded him in death in 2021. As a research scientist, Elvis left a wonderful Legacy in the field of Pesticides and Herbicides research working at Dow Chemical, Gulf until his retirement in 1993. Upon that retirement they returned to their beloved Trickham where they were members of the Trickham Methodist Union Church and enjoyed participating in all community functions including Trickham 84 Club.

Survivors – Son Phillip Cozart and spouse Gloria Hillman of Trickham, TX; Daughter Grethryn & husband Terry Preas of Hardwick, PA; Daughter Linda & husband Preston Gray of Georgetown, TX; Nieces and nephews; 6 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Trickham Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Hale officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, June 14 from 4:00 till 6:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

Services are under the care and direction of Henderson Funeral Home Staff.
