Kristin Prather Kell

August 11, 1972 - May 31, 2024

Kristin Anne Prather Kell, 51, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 31, 2024. Kristin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 11, 1972 to Harold and Judy Prather. The family moved to Arlington, Texas, where she attended school graduating from Lamar High School in 1990.

Continuing a family tradition, she graduated from Texas A&M University in 1994 with a B.S. in Psychology, where she was President of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She met the love of her life, Scott Kell, at Texas A&M and they were married March 15, 1997. Kristin graduated from UTMB Galveston with a Masters in Physical Therapy and worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston until their first daughter was born.

Kristin loved sharing her interest in WW II with her hospital patients and others. She cherished being a mother to Kate, Grace, and Caroline, instilling in them her courage, zest for life, and love for God. She was blessed with many close friends and loved them selflessly. She made two trips to Europe on World War II tours with family, once returning to Paris in a B-17 Bomber, the “Pink Lady,” with her Grandfather and Dad. She loved hunting and fishing, making two hunting trips to South Africa with her Father. She and Scott also loved taking the girls to Colorado to hike and enjoy God’s creation. Kristin served in Bible Study Fellowship for many years as well as other Bible studies and ministries in Houston.

She is survived by her Husband of 27 years, Scott Kell; Daughters Kate, Grace, and Caroline; Parents Harold and Judy Prather; Brother and Sister-in-law Patrick and Rachel Prather; Nephews Henry and Zane Prather; Uncle Steve Prather; Cousin Cody and Mandy Prather and their Son Slade; Grandmother Beverly Ball and her Daughter Allison; and In-laws Carroll and Kathleen Kell. We rejoice knowing that Kristin’s faith has indeed become sight.

Family interment is Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas. Her Celebration of Life memorial is 1:00 PM Friday, June 14. The service will be held at First Baptist Church in Houston, at 7401 Katy Freeway. In lieu of flowers, people may donate to her designated memorial, houstonpregnancyhelpcenter.org.
