James Lee "Jim" Schulze, Sr. 

October 10, 1926 - June 6, 2024 

James “Jim” Lee Schulze, Sr., 97, of Silverdale, WA, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024. A service will be held at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, TX at 3:00 PM on Sunday June 16, 2024, with viewing for friends and family an hour before. Burial will be in Bee House, TX at 10am on Monday June 17, 2024.

Jim was born on October 10, 1926, in Electra, Texas and grew up on the family farm in Meridian, Texas with his 5 siblings. Upon graduation from high school, Jim enlisted in the Navy where he served on an LST ship in the Pacific theater for the remainder of WWII. Jim married Mollie Jean (Conner) on February 1, 1948. He then attended Texas A&M University for Engineering. Upon graduation, he began his career with General Electric as a design engineer, notably serving as project engineer for the original zone line air conditioner. He and Mollie raised their three boys primarily in Louisville, KY.

Jim and Mollie retired to Granbury, TX in 1988 to be closer to extended family and became active members of Southside Baptist Church. They had a home large enough to host their entire family every summer to enjoy time at the lake and with one another. He was known for his generosity including reading books for the blind one night a week. Jim moved to Silverdale, WA in 2022 to be closer to family. He placed high value on his family and taught them to do the same.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Mollie Jean Schulze, eldest son: James Lee Schulze, Jr., brothers: William (Bill) Alexander Schulze, John David Schulze and Tommy Joe Schulze, sister: Patricia (Patsy) Ann Davis

Jim is survived by his brother Gerald (Jerry) Schulze of Knoxville Tennessee; children: Dr. Keith Schulze and wife Denise of Silverdale, Washington, Dr. Gene Schulze and wife Michelle of Yardley, Pennsylvania, daughter-in-law: Linda Schulze of Indianapolis, Indiana, grandchildren: Tamara Schulze, Angela Banks and husband Andrew, Dr. Gwendolyn Smith and husband Steve, Robert Schulze and fiancé Dr. Kodie Stone, Dr. Maressa Schulze, great-grandchildren: Christian Banks, Isaac Banks, Mollie Jean Smith, and Jackson Smith, and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
