Twyla Jeanette Williams 

March 3, 1970 - May 30, 2024 

Twyla Jeanette Williams passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2024, at the age of 54.

Twyla is survived by her mother, Winfree Quiller; her children, Destiny and Noah Williams; sister, Sandra Kennerson; as well as a slew of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends.

Dr. Twyla was born on March 3, 1970 to F.D. & Winfree Quiller. Dr. Twyla graced this world with her presence and her boundless love for life and people. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and dedication. Known for her sweet disposition, Dr. Twyla was cherished by people from all walks of life. She had an extraordinary ability to touch the hearts of those around her, making everyone feel valued and understood. Her kindness and empathy garnered admiration and love from every corner of her community. A nurturing soul, Dr. Williams was a loving daughter whose warmth and kindness enriched the lives of her family and friends. Her children, Destiny and Noah, were the lights of her life. She was an extraordinary mom who instilled in them the values of faith, love, and hard work.

Dr. Twyla was a devoted worshipper who loved God with her whole heart. Her faith was steadfast, and she fervently believed in the power of prayer. Her unwavering devotion to displaying the Father’s love in the earth was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Dr. Twyla Williams graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1992. There she was connected with Lifelong friends! One of her favorite parts of attending Sam was being a part of the Gospel Choir, Soul Lifters. Her undergrad experience was just the beginning! Dr. Twyla continued on to attain her Masters in School Counseling from Prairie View A&M University in 1998 and then her Doctorate in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in 2006.

Professionally, Dr. Williams served as Executive Director of Counseling Crisis & Mental Health for Austin Independent School District. There she was blessed to lead the dream team! She tirelessly worked to support and guide those in need throughout the district. Her compassionate nature and dedication to lifelong learning made her a beacon of hope and healing for many. Her contributions to Educators and students in the field of mental health have left an indelible mark that will be remembered for years to come. Her presence will be missed in the AISD community.

A funeral service to honor Dr. Twyla’s life will be held on June 15, 2024, at 12:30 pm at 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd, Austin, TX 78723. The family invites all who were touched by Dr. Twyla’s spirit to join them in remembrance and celebration of her life.

Her legacy of love, compassion, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Dr. Twyla Jeanette Williams will forever be remembered as the sweetest person and the best mom, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, friend, and professional.
