Elshadai Bekele Getnet 

October 13, 2003 - June 18, 2024 

Elshadai Bekele Getnet, affectionately known as Elsh, passed away on June 18, 2024 in Cypress, Texas at the young age of 20. Born on October 13, 2003 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he is the beloved son of Getnet Bekele and Alemnesh Sileshi and the loving brother of Mieraf Getnet.

Elsh, an avid academic, graduated Cum Laude from Cy-Fair Senior High School in 2022. He then went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University.

Elsh was also involved in many sports starting as early as elementary all the way through high school. Some of his many notable achievements include CFSA Basketball Spring Season 2015 12U Metro Division Champion and CFSA Baseball 12U Metro 2015 Champion.

Elshadai is a phenomenal Son, Brother and Friend who brought immense joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, quick-wit and infectious laughter.

Though his time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts

A funeral service for Elshadai will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM at External Service Location, 11614 Canemont St, Houston, TX 77035. Following the funeral service will be a visitation from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095.
