Franklyn "Frank" Supercinski '64 July 9, 2024 3:46 PM updated: July 9, 2024 4:05 PM

Franklyn Lee "Frank" Supercinski

January 2, 1942 - June 22, 2024

Franklyn Lee Supercinski was born January 2, 1942, in Roswell, NM, to Frank Supercinski and the former Mary Ann Hermann. Frank passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2024, surrounded by his family.

A military dependent, Frank went to five high schools, lettered on three high school basketball teams, and lived at several military bases in the United States and Spain.

Frank worked himself through his last semester of high school. Texas Aggies helped him find jobs. They also gave him an Opportunity Award Scholarship that allowed Frank to attend Texas A&M University at College Station, where he was a Distinguished Student before commissioning as an officer in the United States Army.

Frank met his beloved wife, Rebekah Alice Reed, on a blind date during his first year at Texas A&M. With a law school scholarship, and his wife's work, Frank obtained a degree from Baylor Law School.

Immediately after law school, Frank served in the U.S. Army for two years, which included combat and intelligence operations in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged and awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Bronze Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After military duty, Frank practiced law for more than 52 years. He was a certified specialist in civil trial law and in civil appellate law.

Frank was an active member of St. Michael & All Angels' Episcopal Church where he served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister and on the Vestry as Senior Warden and in many other capacities. Frank also volunteered his time as lawn crew coordinator for many years. He was a very active participant in Bible Study Fellowship and a Bethel Bible Course Instructor.

Frank was Club President and Muster and Scholarship Chairman for the Deep East Texas A&M Club and served Texas A&M University on the Aggie Spirit Development Council and as Regional Coordinator for the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.

Frank was an active Democrat in East Texas. His three judicial races improved legal services in the area. He participated in Leadership Longview, Longview Jaycees, Greggton Noon Lions Club and served on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Longview. He was a member of both the morning and evening Toastmasters' Clubs. As a Jaycee, Frank led the floor fight that made the Special Olympics a state event.

Frank enjoyed his many friends in Longview, especially those at St. Michael's and his Tuesday Group. He valued enduring friendships with his "Animal A" Corps buddies at Texas A&M University and his classmates at Madrid/Torrejon High School in Spain.

Frank's proudest achievement was his loving relationships with his family that included his fantastic wife, Becky, and his three marvelous children, Lisa, Lee and Lauren. Frank appreciated his children's spouses, and he had out-of-this-world love for all his grandchildren and his great-grandson. All those in Frank's family gave constant joy to him, and his greatest pleasure on this earth was being with them.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronald Ray Supercinski. He is survived by his wife, Becky Supercinski; brother David (Diane) Supercinski and sister Mercedes (Rod) Seidel; sisters-in- law, Sandra Hancock and Mary Supercinski; children Lisa (Frank) Muller, Lee (Nicole) Supercinski, and Lauren (Alan) McCalman; grandchildren Whitney (Michael) Troxell, Elizabeth (Cristian) Kuang, Frank Muller, Claire Cammack, Ella Cammack, Marshall Cord Cammack, Meg Cammack, and Reed Supercinski; great-grandchild, Harrison Troxell; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, at St. Michael & All Angels' Episcopal Church with the memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Frank's memory to St. Michael & All Angels' Episcopal Church at 909 Reel Road, Longview TX 75604 or the Texas A&M Foundation at 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, TX 77840.
