Marvin Lewis Robinson 

April 20, 1944 - June 18, 2024 

Marvin Lewis Robinson went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2024 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was a resident of Highlands, Texas since 1993.

He was born on April 20, 1944 in Alvin, Texas to Lois May Cruseturner Robinson and Major Lewis Robinson, the third of their four children.

Marvin Lewis Robinson graduated from Alvin High School in 1963 and is a 1970 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Early in his career, he was an engineer for Cities Service Refinery in Lake Charles, LA, and Tosco Refinery in El Dorado, AR. In 1986 he returned to the Houston area and worked for Amoco Chemicals, now BP. After retirement from BP in 2001, Marvin became the office manager for his wife’s law practice, Law Offices of Judy N. Robinson, P.C. He became a beloved helper to the staff, clients, and general population of Highlands. His wife often stated he became the best paralegal she ever had. He loved visiting with the clients and many clients would call and ask for him.

Marvin Lewis Robinson considered his family his greatest accomplishment in life. His true passion was his six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, as well as his three bonus great grandchildren. Many times, he was caught playing Barbie with his granddaughters and later his great granddaughters.

Marvin Lewis Robinson was a devoted Christian and in earlier years was a member of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God in Baytown Texas. In his later years, he was a faithful member of Crossroads Fellowship Houston. Many of his closest friendships blossomed in this church and he loved attending LINK, Connect, and never wanted to miss home group. He and Judy were part of a close group of couples their age who enjoyed each other’s company, taking trips and vacationing together.

Marvin Lewis Robinson was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son-in-law, brother, uncle, and friend. He was treasured and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, babysitting great-grands, family gatherings (especially group birthday parties), planting oak trees everywhere on the farm, mowing on the tractor, going out with friends, and having Wednesday lunch with retirees from BP. By far his favorite hobby and most creative talent was making knives. Marvin loved to make knives and gift them to his family and friends.

Marvin Lewis Robinson had a special, precise way of doing things - all things. He always said there is only one right way of doing things and that his way was the right way. He was given a hard time for this by his family who attributed this preciseness to his engineering background.

Marvin Lewis Robinson is preceded in death by his father, Major Lewis Robinson, his mother, Lois May Cruseturner Robinson Hamad, his sister, Virginia Fuqua and his second mother, his mother-in-law, Selma Waldrep Newton.

Marvin Lewis Robinson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Newton Robinson of Highlands, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Hershell Bernard of Highlands, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Karen Robinson of Katy, TX; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnne Rawlinson and Dean Cooper of Humble, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Sherlie and Jack Carlisle of New Caney, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Linda Newton of Colleyville, TX; brother-in-law Douglas Newton of Rusk, TX; granddaughter, Madison Valadez of Highlands, TX; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Makaela and Tony Martinez of Tomball, TX; granddaughter, Haleigh Pierce of Highlands, TX; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kristen and Reed Burdette of Tyler, TX; granddaughter, Lauren Robinson of Katy, TX; grandson, Ethan Robinson of Katy, TX; great granddaughters, Ava Ruth, Adilynn Grace, and Emery Jade Valadez of Highlands, TX; great grandson Joseph Warren Martinez of Montgomery, TX; bonus great grandchildren, Sophia, Emmie, and Gabriel Valadez, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Scott Robinson, Hershell Bernard, Ethan Robinson, Tony Martinez, Reed Burdette, Richard Newton, Nathan Newton, and Paul Haggan.

The family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, Texas 77521 on June 20th, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

A celebration of life will be held on June 21st, 2024 at 11:00am at Navarre Funeral Home, Baytown, Texas  with Pastor Mike Allard of Crossroads Fellowship officiating. A private family burial will follow at Sterling White Cemetery in Highlands, Texas.
