Edward Lewis "Ed" Kasper
August 22, 1935 - January 18, 2024
Edward Lewis Kasper was born on August 22, 1935, in Groves, Texas, and passed away on January 18, 2024, in Lampasas, Texas, at the age of 88. He served in the Army for 4 years.
Edward, known as Ed to his loved ones, had a distinguished career as a Science Teacher for Giddings, Nederland, Port Arthur, and Professor at Lamar University in Port Arthur. He was a proud alum of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur and later pursued higher education at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas receiving his Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
A man of faith, Ed was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches, Texas, where he found comfort and community.
He is survived by his children Sharon and David Hampton of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Sean Kasper of Killeen, Texas, Shane and Kim Kasper of Groves, Texas, Shelleen and Butch Novak of Georgetown, Texas, along with 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Kasper.
A memorial service honoring the life of Ed Kasper will be held on March 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches. His dedication to his country, his wisdom and kindness to his students, and his unconditional love for family will always be remembered and cherished.
