Donal Lee "Don" Hay 

January 28, 1933 - June 6, 2024 

Donal Lee Hay passed away on June 6, 2024. He was born in Haysi, VA to Earl and Toona Hay in 1933. 

Donal is survived by his sons, Donald Lee (Lorraine) Hay and Michael (Mary Badgett) Hay, his grandson, Paul Harold, and his sister, Ann Hay Counts. Donal was preceded in death by his parents, wife Klara K. Hay, brothers Walker Wilson “Jack” Hay and James Earl Hay, Jr., and sister Linda Gail Hay Hyson. 

Donal retired as an Instructor and Staff Sergeant from the United States Air Force, received his PhD from Texas A&M University, served his Internship at the American Vocational Association in Washington, D.C., was a professor at Arizona State University and Morehead State University, was Dean of Instruction and Vice President at Texas State Technical Institute, was the President of the American Vocational Association, and was Assistant Academic Vice President at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. These were just a few of Donal’s many career and educational experiences, before he retired.

No funeral services are planned at this time, but he will be remembered and deeply missed by friends and his family.
