He was born to Neal Malcolm and Anne Keith Randolph in Austin, TX, December 21, 1943. His father was a class of 1934 graduate and Professor Emeritus of Entomology at Texas A&M University. Larry spent most of his formative years in College Station, Texas. Larry attended Texas A&M Consolidated High School and was a 3 sport letterman in baseball, basketball, and football. Larry was a leader in the class of 1962 reunions & enjoyed staying connected to classmates for decades.

Larry graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in 1966. He was a lifelong proud Fightin’ Texas Aggie, supporting the Former Students Association, Century Club, the 12th Man Foundation, and Zone Club football season ticket holder. In 1996, Larry and Mary permanently endowed a Diamond Century Club Membership in honor of Neal and Anne Randolph.

Larry immediately began work post graduation for Humble Oil and Refining, renamed Exxon Mobil. His career allowed for many promotions and locale changes, having worked in the Exxon offices in Jackson, MS, Memphis, TN, Bowling Green, KY, Chicago, IL and all over Texas: Dallas, Houston, Greenspoint, Baytown, and Katy Freeway. He started in the Marketing department and later worked in Employee Relations. He shaped policies, led negotiations, and mentored the careers of countless colleagues. After 32 successful years, Larry retired having held worldwide responsibilities and making many lifelong friends.

Larry married Wanona Garrett and they had two children, Keith Randolph and Kristyn Randolph Holleman who are loved immensely by both parents. Larry spent time at night and on the weekends supporting his children’s various activities. Additionally, Larry served on the financial committee and was a founding member of Strawbridge United Methodist Church in Kingwood, TX.

Larry married Mary Cook Randolph in 1994, acquiring not only a wife but also the families of daughter Margaret McGinn Hilton and son Hugh McGinn. Larry and Mary retired in Bentwater on Lake Conroe. They set about to travel extensively, often with the entirety of their family. Many wonderful friends were made in Bentwater, and retirement brought rewarding community involvement.

Larry was active in the local ExxonMobil Retiree Bluebonnet Club, St. Mary’s St. Vincent de Paul and the St. Mary’s Church Financial Committee. Larry and Mary also were active in Bentwater golf, golf camps, and golf charity efforts.

Larry’s spirit of generosity and hospitality was inherited from his mother, known affectionately as Mama Anne. Larry’s dedication to hosting, cooking and especially smoking brisket and ribs produced well renowned barbecue. Lake PaPa’s favorite guests at the table were his grandchildren. “You all get enough?”
