Arthur Vinson "Vince" King
September 27, 1952 - June 30, 2024
After a long and courageous battle with lymphoma, Vince King passed away peacefully at home on June 30th, 2024, with his family nearby.
Arthur Vinson (Vince) King was born September 27, 1952, in McKinney, Texas, a fifth-generation Texan. He was reared in Commerce and later Nacogdoches, Texas, where he graduated from Nacogdoches High School.
After high school graduation, he attended Texas A&M University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Vince was a proud second-generation Aggie, alongside his father and brother. He was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Squadron 4, and served as an executive officer on group staff. He was a member of the Class of '75.
Located in Denton, Texas, Vince enjoyed a successful career as an entrepreneur with his company Entech Design Inc., which manufactured and installed his patented sonar system for coal fired power plants and industrial sonar equipment for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Vince was known for his love of history, creative aptitude, eye for detail and a voracious appetite for projects and adventure. While he had many hobbies including genealogy, woodworking and travel, most notable was his love of stamp collecting. He was a highly regarded philatelist and internationally known for his innate ability to research, collect and exhibit. There was rarely a task Vince attempted where he didn't excel.
He is survived by his beloved partner Ann (LeBouf) Pierpont of Georgetown, Texas; his daughter Jessica King of Austin, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Jesse Hunter, and grandchildren Chase and Taylor Hunter of Sanger, Texas; his brother and sister-in-law Mark and Debbie King of McKinney, Texas; his paternal aunt Jean Sitterle of Giddings, Texas; and his daughters' mother Rebecca Stanly McCollum of Denton, Texas. He is forever loved by many, including dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and a life-time of friends. Vince is preceded in death by his parents, Opal Ann (Jay) King and Roy Travis King of McKinney, Texas.
