Thomas Lynn Almand

August 25, 1944 - July 2, 2024

Thomas Lynn Almand joined his Lord and Savior on July 2, 2024. Born in Omaha, Nebraska to Christell (Terrell) and R. Lynn Almand on August 25, 1944, Tom was a devoted husband and loving father. A 1962 graduate of Waxahachie High School, Tom continued his education at Texas A&M University. Tom was known to those who loved him as Tummy, or Jug. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard and was a treasured fixture of his community, owning Scott Furniture Company. On August 28, 1964, Tom took Kaye Freeman as his beloved bride and the couple shared three daughters, one grandson, one granddaughter, and 60 love filled years devoted to each other.

Tom made many lifelong friends in the class of 1962. Known as HF3, for the past 20 years, they would meet at Tom’s favorite place, TKA Ranch in Gouldbusk, Texas, for fellowship, to share stories, and hunt. In his younger years, he enjoyed Bulldogging, always looked forward to hunting, and in his later years never passed up a chance to watch the grandkids.

A faith filled man, Tom was a member of Farley Street Baptist Church and served his community as a Past Trustee at Central Presbyterian Church. He also gave back as a member of the Lions Club. Sincere, and selfless, he was always ready to help others.

He is preceded in death by his parents R. Lynn and Christell Almand.

Tom is survived by his wife Kaye Almand; daughters Angie Green and husband Mike, D’Anne Harrington, Kim Owens and husband Brad; grandson Gatlin Peck; and granddaughter Kinley Allen.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 06, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie, Texas.
