Jared Dale Hunt, beloved by all who knew him, joined his heavenly Father July 15, 2024. Born September 7, 1998, Jared was the shining light of parents Jeff and Lisa Hunt, brother Carter and sister-in-law Emily. Cherished son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, Jared touched the lives of so many. His infectious smile, boisterous laugh, glowing personality, and unwavering optimism endeared him to all who met him. Always ready for new adventures, Jared lived life to the fullest. He accomplished much and impacted many during his fleeting time in this world. He brought so much Joy to those around him.
A 2017 graduate of Calallen High School, Jared was voted “Mr. Congeniality” by classmates. Jared earned his bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in occupational health & safety from Texas A&M University, College Station in 2022. Jared’s hard work and dedication to his studies was a testament to his drive and perseverance in achieving two major goals, his prized Aggie ring and his degree. Jared’s Aggie Spirit shined brightly as he carried it in his heart, embodying the values of his Alma Mater and upbringing - loyalty, respect, and community.
As an active member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, he took part in efforts to support dependents of those with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS). Jared had a benevolent heart and was always ready and willing to help with a noble cause. As members of Grace United Methodist Church, Jared and his family worked with Sea City Work Camp each year, repairing and rehabilitating homes of those in need who have limited resources. Jared was always eager to help others. During his many years of participating with Sea City Work Camp, Jared served as Youth Leader, Youth Dean, Assistant Foreman, and Foreman in 2023 and 2024. He was a friend to all, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand, exemplifying his compassionate and giving nature.
Jared’s professional journey led him to Devoted Healthcare & Hospice, where he served as President of Business Development upon returning to Corpus Christi. His charisma and dedication were evident in his work accomplishments. He made a significant impact on the company, his colleagues and the community.
Jared remained deeply involved in the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show into his adult life. Starting at an early age, Jared and brother Carter raised lambs, competing in shows across Texas. It became a family tradition. Jared made the sale at many of the major shows. He was the 2016 Texas Best Show Series Senior Finewool Champion. Jared was further recognized for his accomplishments earning Grand Champion Market Lamb and Grand Champion Senior Heifer Showman in 2017. Jared often played in tournaments at River Hills Golf & Country Club with his dad Jeff. Many of the other dads who played with them loved Jared as they would their own son. They also loved to give him a hard time. The “Hot Nines” tournaments were epic with a lot of side bets. A few of those dads knew little tricks that could get Jared off his game - all done in great fun and camaraderie.
Jared had a zest for life that was contagious. His love for life was evident within his many passions. He loved the outdoors and found serenity in the quiet moments out on the water. He embraced the challenge and camaraderie of a good golf game. He excelled at the simple pleasure of grilling and sharing meals with his loved ones. Like his mom and dad, he always wanted to add a nice bottle of Cabernet to those meals. Due to his love of muscle cars, he was a regular participant of the annual Hobbs Hot Rod Run and was always up for a conversation about his dream car, the Dodge Viper SRT-10. His love for all genres of music gave him just one of his nicknames of “Walking Spotify.” As a true Ag, Jared loved tailgating in football season which often ended with “wake me up” antics at Northgate especially after an Aggie win. Whoop!
Most of all, Jared cherished spending time with his family and friends. He loved children and babies. Jared was eagerly looking forward to the birth of his first niece or nephew in just a few months, an event that filled him with immense excitement and joy. Jared’s love for his family was boundless and he cherished every moment spent with them.
To know Jared was to love Jared. He was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. His absence leaves an indescribable void.
