Mark Calvin Turner 

December 23, 1926 - July 19, 2024 

Mark Calvin Turner, 97, of Beaumont, Texas departed this life Friday, July 19, 2024. He was born December 23, 1926, in Beaumont, to Clara Johanna Ischer Turner and John Turner, Sr.

After graduating French High School in 1944, Mark joined the United States Army Air Corps serving his country in World War II. Resuming his education, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1951. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Dresser Ideco until his retirement in 1983.

Survivors include his daughter, Carol Leach; sons, Raymond Turner and his wife, Julie; and William Turner; stepson, Michael Day and his wife, Toni; Goddaughter, Vicky Holland; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet Josephine Timme Turner; stepson, Jerry Day; and siblings, John Turner, Howard Turner, Raymond Turner, and Betty Bullard.

A gathering of Mr. Turner’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4330 Crow Road, Beaumont, with a graveside service at 3:30 p.m., at Coshatte Cemetery, 318 Smith Road, Bellville, Texas.
