David R. Mathurin 

July 26, 1954 - July 14, 2024 

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Mathurin. He was a beloved husband, brother, and father. He peacefully departed on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Dot. He is survived by his two sisters Susan and Jane. He was raised in Massachusetts.

After college he moved to Chicago for work and met his wife, Patricia. Then he completed his Master’s at Texas A&M University. He and Patricia moved to Baton Rouge, where they had two children Leanne and Matthew. He worked for Exxon for 30 years. He was member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, and a Eucharistic Minister. He was an avid sports fan for multiple teams. He was always there for his family and was a wise and caring husband and father. He will be missed dearly.

The family would like to invite all who knew and loved Dave to join us as we commemorate his life. A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 6 pm until 8 pm. A second visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 10am followed by the Rosary and a Mass at 12pm.
