Michael Patrick "Mike" Spencer 

March 17, 1966 - July 11, 2024 

Michael Patrick Spencer, a beloved family member, devoted teacher, and faithful Christian, went to be with the Lord at the age of 58. Mike’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to education, faith, and many passions.

He was born in St. Paul, MN on March 17, 1966 and resided in Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Spencer and baby brother Peter. He is survived by his father James Spencer (Dianne), his brothers Brian (Sarah) and Jeffrey (Jennifer), his sisters Amy (Bradley) and Sarah (Skyler), his thirteen nieces and nephews and Amy Spencer.

Mike spent over 30 years as a math teacher at Klein Oak High School, where he inspired countless students with his enthusiasm and expertise. His impact on the school community is immeasurable, and his dedication to his students will be fondly remembered.

A graduate of Cy Creek High School, Mike went on to earn an Applied Mathematics degree at Texas A&M University. While at Texas A&M, he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets, demonstrating his leadership and dedication to service.

Mike’s love of sports was well-known. He was an avid Houston Astros, Texans, Rockets, and Texas Aggies fan. He also had a special fondness for tennis. His enthusiasm for these sports brought joy to those around him and created lasting memories with friends and family.

Mike had a deep love for hiking, reading, and music. He went on many hikes, where he found peace and inspiration in nature. An avid reader, Mike had a diverse literary taste, finding joy and knowledge in books of all genres. His passion for music was equally strong; he enjoyed a wide range of genres and often found solace in his favorite tunes.

Michael’s warmth, dedication, and passion for life will be deeply missed by his family, friends, students, and colleagues. His legacy as a follower of Christ, educator, sports fan, and lover of books and music will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
