James E. Brown
February 22, 1942 - July 5, 2024
Jim was born to James Brown, Jr. and Alice Chesnutt Brown on February 22, 1942, in Donna, Texas. He participated in track and field at Pan American College before transferring to Texas A&M University in College Station where he received a bachelors in mathematics and a masters and PhD with a focus in genetics. More importantly, he met his wife. He spent one week working in a windowless office and the rest working outdoors. He was a rancher, a horse breeder and an artist; a man of profound faith who lived and died on his own terms, and God’s.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Pamela June (Adams) Brown of Weatherford; sons Heath Brown and wife Wendy of Freeport, Brandon Brown and wife Dee of Kerrville, and Matthew Brown and wife Kaelyn of Austin; daughters Lori Kennemer and husband Mike of Mineral Wells, and Julie Barber and husband Erich of Kerrville; brothers Rusty Brown and wife Karen of Palo Pinto, and Danny Brown and wife Debbie of Donna; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
