Charles Edgar "Ed" Stinnett, Jr.
December 19, 1934 - July 25, 2024
Charles Edgar "Ed" Stinnett Jr., age 89, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on July 25, 2024. He was born on December 19, 1934, to Charles Edgar Stinnett, Sr. and Myrtle Adele Rufner in Fort Worth, Texas.
A "Class of 56" graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Ed was the Commanding Officer of the Second Regiment in the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and finished his commission in the U.S. Army Artillery Division as an Artillery Forward Observer in November 1957. After leaving the Army, Ed commenced what would be a 50+ year career of constructing roads, freeways, and docks for tankers in the Houston area.
While his professional achievements were many, those qualities most important to him were being a follower of Jesus Christ, a loving husband and father, and providing for his family. He demonstrated his love, integrity and high moral compass every day and instilled these values in all those with whom he interacted.
Ed is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Martha Stinnett of Frisco, Texas; his daughters, Susan Elizabeth Stinnett of Meridian, Idaho, and Laura Ann Stinnett of Humble, Texas; his son and wife, Charles Randolph "Randy" and Richelle Stinnett of Dallas, Texas.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edgar Stinnett, Sr. and Myrtle Adele Rufner Stinnett; and his sister, Kathleen Wilson.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:30 am, at Grace Avenue United Methodist Church, 3521 Main St., Frisco, Texas 75034.
