Meredith Fox '01 August 15, 2024 11:51 AM updated: August 15, 2024 12:19 PM

Meredith Paige (Reed) Fox

October 22, 1978 - August 8, 2024

Meredith Fox was born October 22, 1978 and on August 8, 2024 ran to Heaven to be in a place that was her true desire, worshiping at the feet of her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Meredith’s passion, drive, and determination were never about herself; rather, she was always wanting to shift the focus off herself and make sure that God would be honored. She loved people and was willing to jump in to find a solution to a need even amidst her very own struggle. If she met you and said she would pray for you, she continued to faithfully pray for you daily even into her final days on earth. She embodied Proverbs 31 as a daughter, wife, mother, and most importantly, a child of King Jesus.

Meredith was born in Billings, Montana to Darlene Reed and Jim Larsen. She was raised in Rockwall, TX where she began serving others from an early age helping to establish the Teen Board which specifically welcomed new students into the community. Meredith loved Rockwall and cherished the memories of her Granny’s shop on the square- The Almost New Shoppe (now Groovy’s). She graduated from Rockwall High School in 1997 and would continue to remain a Yellowjacket fan throughout the rapid expansion of Rockwall.

Meredith was a graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 2001. While at Texas A&M she was involved in Aggies Sisters for Christ (ASC), Student Senate, and worked for the Sports Information Department of Texas A&M Athletics supporting most of the major sports while focusing on Men’s and Women’s Tennis. She was quick to lend a hand, give a ride to anyone who needed it, and brightened the campus with a contagious smile and personality.

The Lord brought Meredith and Ben together in their final semester as they quickly fell in love dancing at Ben’s Senior Military Ball for the Corps of Cadets. Despite nursing a broken toe leading up to the Ball, they danced that evening and continued to lovingly dance through life till the end.

Meredith went on to become a successful Pharmaceutical Sales Rep before her illness began in early 2006. Not to let her illness slow her down, Meredith valiantly fought trying to be a champion for others. With great passion she gave back to the Community as able honoring a Community that gave so much to her- Rockwall’s Pregnancy Resource Center, helping to form Lakepointe Church’s Adoption ministry, Helping Hands of Rockwall County, working for the late Congressman Ralph M Hall, Rockwall County Texas A&M Club, Pullen Elementary School’s Watch DOGS Program, Cain Middle School’s MVP Program, Rockwall’s Breakfast Rotary Club, Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award), National Charity League, and the Marriage Ministry at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church. Her contagious smile and passion for others poured forth in her trips to Kroger, Sprouts, CVS, and Starbucks. She knew most associates by name and would be quick to offer a smile, encouragement, and prayer. Meredith was also widely known for her signature look always wearing pearls.

Meredith loved others, loved her Daughter, loved her Husband, and most importantly loved Jesus. Meredith became a Christian when she asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior as an adolescent while attending Sky Ranch Camp. Embodying one of her favorite verses thereafter was 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have passed away; behold new things have come.” Because of God’s great love for us through his Son, Jesus Christ, she loved that she was a new creation and strived to grow and live out her faith.

Those left to cherish Meredith’s legacy are her husband of nearly 21 years, Ben; daughter Pierson; her mother Darlene Reed; her father Jim Larsen; parents-in-law Bill and Donna Fox, brother-in-law Tim Fox and wife Ryann; and many extended family members from the Pierson and Fox/Hickman families.

A celebration of life will be held 10:00am Friday, August 16, 2024, at The Bridge at Lakepointe Church- The Bridge - Rockwall campus. A gathering of family and friends will take place 6:00pm-8:00pm Thursday August 15, 2024, at Reflections-Rest Haven Rockwall.
