Allen J. Wyse

November 6, 1948 - July 23, 2024

Allen J. Wyse, age 75, passed peacefully into his eternal rest on July 23, 2024, at his home in Frisco, Texas.

Allen was born on November 6, 1948, at the home of his parents Harold and Cora Wyse. He was the seventh of ten children who grew up on a farm in rural Ohio. It was there that Allen learned the value of family, hard work, and agriculture.

Allen married his childhood sweetheart Jo Nofziger on August 22, 1970, and their lifelong devotion to one another was an inspiration to many. Allen was a devoted husband, a loving father, and dedicated friend to many. His kind and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew Allen, and he will be deeply missed.

Allen accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior as a young boy and spent many years of his life singing in Gospel quartets. During his last days and in a semi-conscious state, one of Allen’s granddaughters discovered he was humming along in harmony to a gospel song she had recorded for him. Music soothed his soul and carried him through many difficult days during his life.

Allen’s deeply rooted commitment to helping others was demonstrated in various ways, and he was known in every community where he lived as a man of kindness. Whether he was blessing others with his fine woodworking skills, volunteering with numerous charities, or simply being the neighborhood grandpa who fixed the kids' bikes, his grace was palpable.

Allen had a passion for Texas A&M University, and his work in the Office of Finance was the pinnacle of his career. His unwavering dedication and generosity toward the University community and his colleagues left an indelible mark. Allen's enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile in supporting students and staff was truly inspiring.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Cora Wyse, and his sisters Buetta Bontrager, Byrdalene Horst and Rosemary Reimer, his brother-in-law Rex Nofziger and Jo’s parents, Lee and Madelyn Nofziger.

Allen is survived by his loving wife, Jo Wyse, son Luke and his wife Renee, son Jesse and his wife Ronna, and five grandchildren, Andrew, Joshua, Hailey, Claire, and Hannah Wyse. He is also survived by four brothers Dean, Denton, Sanford, and Ned Wyse, two sisters Norma and Sarah Wyse, a sister-in-law Debora Troyer, a brother-in-law Allen Nofziger, and a large extended family who will continue to cherish his memory and honor his legacy.

Although flowers and plants would be enjoyed, Allen’s family would like to suggest that you please consider donating in memory of Allen Wyse to https://day1bags.org/.  The mission of Day 1 Bags is "a nonprofit organization that provides brand new duffle bags and backpacks to youth in foster care instead of trash bags as luggage when being removed from their homes or moved from shelter to shelter.” Helping provide dignity to children has been important to our family.

Allen's life will be celebrated on July 31, 2024, with Viewing at 11:00 a.m., Funeral at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Park. We invite all who knew and loved him to join us in honoring his extraordinary life.
