Don B. Walther 

August 12, 1938 - July 26, 2024 

Don B. Walther passed away on July 26, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Don was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 12, 1938.

Don graduated from Sunset High School in 1956 and Texas A&M College in 1960. In 1964, Don volunteered to go to Vietnam and was assigned as a Forward Air Controller.

In 1967, Don achieved his dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot. Don lived his dream flying for Braniff International, Piedmont Airlines and US Air. Don retired from US Air in 1998 but continued to work as a simulator instructor at American Airlines until June 30, 2024.

In 1962, Don met and married the love of his life, Juanice. Don's family was his world and providing for them was his priority.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juanice, his parents and two sisters. Don is survived by his children, Ron Walther and wife Sally, Twyla Williamson and husband Bruce, Vanessa Walther and husband, Chad Nunez, and Blair Walther.

Don was “Pop” to his grandchildren, Allyssa, Gabrielle, Cara, Zachary, McClain, Garrett, Ben and Grace, and great-grandchildren, Camilla, Jax, Sloane, DeClan, Collins, and Palmer.

Please join us to celebrate Don at 10:00 am on Monday, August 19, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, 6525 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas followed by a reception at Frontiers of Flight Museum, 6911 Lemmon Avenue, Dallas, Texas.
